This is a star fort in Valletta, it stands on the seaward shore of the Sciberras Peninsula that divides Marsamxett Harbour from Grand Harbour, and commands the entrances to both harbours. Built in 1552 it had its biggest test in the Great Siege of Malta of 1565.
Originally constructed in the late 16th century and contains a Byzantine-style fresco, depicting the Blessed Virgin Mary with Christ on her right arm. The church expanded several times to accommodate the growing population of the village and the roofed veranda is considered a classic example of 17th century Renaissance architecture. The sanctuary was blessed by Pope John Paul II during his visit to Malta in May 1990.
The abandoned Festival Hotel on the slopes of the Marfa Ridge overlooking Mellieha Bay, located in the Sdieri area, between the Red Tower and the boathouses in Mellieha.
Sadly this hotel has been knocked down, there is another hotel being built in its place as of 2026.
St Agatha's Tower, also known as the Red Tower is the largest Bastioned tower to be built on Malta. Built between 1647 & 1649 it is the 6th of the Lascaris Towers
Armier Tower, also known as the White Tower, it is a small watchtower overlooking the Armier Bay, Built in 1658 as the sixth of the De Redin Towers.
